If you are trying to remove any stain from a surface and you do not know what will remove the stain, but you do know what will harm the stained surface, start with the mildest solution, usually soap and water, then work your way up to stronger cleansers. If nothing removes the stain without harming the underlying surface, then your only option may be to cover the area with a stain-killing primer, then repainting the primed area.
