The door panels are held in place by clips--you will probably have to buy them seperately from your panel. If you get a panel, it will most likely come with instructions.
It has been awhile but I believe you get started by prying off the cover of the inside door handle, it just snaps on. There are a couple screws remove them. Then it seems like there are about three more attatchments along the bottom of the door panel. Remove the cover and and the screws, then I think that you just kind of pull and and lift. You should be able to reach in and disconnect the wiring before completely removing the paneling. It has been several years and I'm telling you from memory. But the key is finding those hidden screws.
how do i get into a trunk o f a vw bug 1972
No. The door strikers changed in 67.
First you take off the window crank. Then you remove the door handle, you have to pop off the dish from the front with a small screwdriver. There will be a Phillips head screw in there, remove that. then pull door handle out and slide the outter part of it out. after that with a small flat screwdriver or something similar, slide it down between the panel and the door, slide it over until you hit something, that is a clip, pry it out. Then repeat step until all clips are popped. ( theres like 15-20 clips. after that you have to pull the panel upwards to slide armrest anchor out. That's all there is to it.
Bolt in swap.
I had one made for my 1973 Super Beetle, I simply removed one of my door handles and took it in to my local locksmith . He looked up the code on the handle and made me a new key. To remove the handle just remove one screw on the side next to the rubber weather strip and slide the handle forward.
Emergency - 1972 Camera Bug 4-10 was released on: USA: 23 November 1974
the interior door handles changed in 68' so the door will probably line up but the internals might be a bit whacky
You must remove the rear interior panel by lifting on the rear, and pushing the panel forward. Once done, the speaker is behind the panel, bolted to the sheetmetal frame with 4 bolts. You will need a Speaker Adapter to mount an aftermarket 6.5" speaker. Or you may use a factory replacement speaker. The adapter that I found was a Scosche SAVW6.
