before i start are you changing suspension air springs or safty restraint air bags im sorry but many people call front suspension air bags
On a 1997 Lincoln Continental : If you mean air bags for the driver and front passenger ( YES )
Could be one or both of the front air bags or the spider valve in the compressor.
if they are like the 85 air bag suspen they have an electronic bleed off valve on the bag
Leak. Spray soapy water on the air suspension bags and watch for bubbles On bags. Also check in engine compartment wher the air suspension bags Top part are located 3 nuts or 4 don't remember , remove plastic cover that Hides the screw for bags. Listen for air leak from tha location. If that's where it's coming from replace bag.
It is Illegal to remove air bags from any vehicle.
yes
No
Either one of your rear air bags have a leak or both have went bad.
If the front of the car is at a normal height I would suspect the ride height sensors to be bad they are located at the bottome of the air spring assembly i believe. Its been awhile since ive looked at it.
Yes or the ride height sensor is bad. If the sensor is bad the bags fill, deflate and refill.
the 97 Lincoln has air bags instead of coils. the pump is under the windshield washer solvent in the front drive side fender. open the hood and remove the windshield washer solvent reservoir and you will find the pump under neath . its controlled by a ride leveler attached to the rear axle. close to center. there is also a sencer ,I'm not sure were its at. the sencer is around 200.00 . the pump is around 1200.00 . air bags should be more reasonable. good luck......
No.
