The front one just pulled right off by pulling it, the back one was reomed with prying by a big screw driver. Then they just slid back on. No special tool like I was told!

Answer You need to use a special tool and it will squeeze the part together at the fitting then pull out. I have a 2002 kia sportage when i changed fuel filter i did not need tools, push fuel line towards the filter then pinch plastic clips in at same time then pull fuel line away from filter it should pull right off. In the 1999 Kia Sportage you must remove the battery ( Batter is found on the left side, which is the passenger side of your vehicle) to get full access to the fuel Filter. Find patience to get these lines loose from the fuel filter. Work in a well ventilated area and place a fuel adsorbing rag or place material on the ground so not to pollute your ground that you will be working on the car to reduce chance of a fire.
