remove the radio/back-up fuse(7.5amp) located in the fuse box in the engine compartment passenger side, for 5 minutes. be sure that the ignition key off..better..remove the key from the ignition...or you could fry your ECU.
it is fuse number 18 in the fuse box under the hood its a amp 10 fuse
There should be a power distribution box under the hood with fuses and relays.
You can view the 2000 Ford Explorer owners manual ( which includes the fuse box diagram ) online at : www . motorcraft service . com ( no spaces ) Click on Owner Guides

CommentI don't think I can help you, but our 2000 Dodge Neon only has a power plug opening, no cigarette lighter and no ash tray. We bought is used, so don't know if ours came special or what.It is under the hood in the fuse box by the battery- 20 amp the mini ones- my lighter fuse went out, and the fuse was blown
Did you ever find out where the cigarette lighter fuse was located on the 98 Camry? I have a 00 Camry and im looking for my cig. lighter fuse. The fuse is in a fuse box located under the drivers side of the dashboard to the left of the steering column. If the fuse is good and the cigarette lighter still does not work, the wire attaching at the cigarette lighter itself has probably burned or broken off necessitating the lighter be changed. It's a comon problem.
If your Intrigue is equipped with California Emissions controls (as my '00 is), you will find a third fuse box. It sits next to the regular fuse box in the engine compartment. In my 99 Oldsmobile Intrigue GL, my fuse box is on the passenger's side panel. I'm not sure if the Intrigue has multiple fuse boxes ? But, on my '99 GL - the fuse box is located under the hood ... behind the battery. It has a plastic cover. You may find a fuse puller inside - also, a diagram of the fuse locations is provided inside the cover along with spare fuses. My Olds Intrigue has both fuse panel locations. Behind the passengers door AND under the hood on the passengers side. The 1999 Intrigue has 2 fusebox locations...a larger fusebox under the passenger side of the hood, (unscrew the large turnhandle in the center of the box to open) which contains the larger fuses, a fuse puller, and the relays. There is also a fusebox on the interior of the passenger side...open the passenger door all the way up, and look at the side of the console panel, between the glovebox and the door. There should be a "finger hole" for you to pull open. It may be VERY hard to get open; mine is. Here you will find the smaller fuses. A diagram of the contents are on the inside of both lids.
Hi, I had that happen to me once and it just turned out to be a blown fuse. The fuses are under the hood right at the back near the driver's seat. There should be a list on the top of the box indicating which fuse controls what. I think it's on the same as the horn. It might not be that simple Zak OR Try exercising the red hazard switch about twenty times. The circuit runs through there first, and if there is crud in the switch it will affect the blinkers. It is also possible to carefully take apart the hazard switch, clean it up, and reinstall it. Another cause can be the fuse itself. In the fuse box, on US cars, take out and examine fuse #11. When I attempted to clean mine up with sandpaper, the fuse literally fell apart due to old age. Lastly, in the fuse box towards the back you will find the combination relay, which controls the windshield wipers, hazard lights, turn signals and a few other things. 201 821 00 47 comes to mind as the part number. Remove the relay and reseat it in the socket. These are fairly robust relays, and usually don't go bad, but they do on occasion. And yet one more thing to try is to remove and reseat the steering column combination switch multipin connector on the bottom of the fuse box (accessible under the dash).
