Well, i have a 1998 Gmc Sonoma. My heater core just went out and i took it to all the mechanics in my town. they all sayed it would take at LEAST 5-9 hours of labor. plus the price of the core
The 1996 GMC half ton pickup truck heater core can be removed by removing the heater core retaining bolts. Remove the heater core water lines. Reverse the process to install the new heater core.
It is possible the thermostat has stuck in the open position therefor not letting the engine heat up. It could also be the heater core or possibly the hoses to the heater core are disconnected.
read the instructions and find out!
take the dash apart and remove nessesary items to replace heater core

I need to know how to replace a heater core in a 1992 GMC Jimmy?
With great difficultly! Seriously, the entire dash assembly needs to be removed to gain access to the heater core. I would recomend purchasing a shop manual for the vehicle if you intend on doing the job yourself.
