there should be little plastic clips on the drawer runners when open push them up and pull out the drawer OR: If you have the alternative type- one of Triumph (UK) drawer cabinets, the A4 sheet filler, there is a little tab on the side of every drawer, 2 inches from the front. 1. remove plastic sleeve (if any) 2. untwist the metal locking tab with pliers so it fits the slot its protruding from. 3. when both sides are untwisted- lift to clear the tabs completely and pull towards you, as the drawer is held by two claws on the back as well and you need to slide out of those. REMEMBER TO WORK ON EMPTY DRAWERS- most people never realise that while a single sheet of A4 paper is feather light, a thousand or more can weight 'a tone'. ooldgregg

There's a springbar on the back side of the ashtray/cupholder "drawer." On mine, the springbar broke off the drawer, because it was attached only by a couple of plastic "posts" which, I believe were "mushroomed" with heat, to hold the springbar to it. You can remove the drawer by extending it, then reaching into the dash, above the drawer, where two plastic tabs (one on each side of the upper surface) can be carefully pulled downward, to allow the drawer to be removed. I found the spring lying inside the dash, just beneath the drawer. The attach points to the back side of the drawer were obvious. I drilled small starter holes through the two plastic posts and attached the springbar with small sheet metal screws, then reinserted the drawer on the track/rails. Now it works just fine.
