remove the bumper, you will then see the bracket that holds the bottom of the light to the car. the rest is pretty self explanitory once the bumper cover is off
yes it does... however, the bumper must match the car. what i mean by that is, the sedan bumper will not fit the hatch. and vice versa. the clips are the same. the outer shell is shaped a little different. eg. the back bumper has a finger groove to make it easier to open the trunk. subtle differences like that.
a front bumper on a same year 316 will fit on a 318 if they are both the same body style. For instance a coupe bumper will fir on a coupe and a sedan on a sedan but you can't put a coupe bumper on a sedan.
The average price for a bumper protector for a BMW sedan is usually around $100. One can purchase this bumper protector at the online site "Eurobumperguard".
Coupe? There are little screws on the underside that you'll have to reach under and remove with a small, short screwdriver. Sedan? I believe the grille is part of the bumper.
I believe you have to remove the splash guards inside the wheel well. but as for finding a new bumper, I don't know. I found one place online that sells the bumper for the sedan model, but I have the LX, and I think I'm just going to have to find one in a junkyard somewhere.
Five
Remove the front bumper cover. The tank and pump should be free for removal from the bottom.
Remove support brace above washer fluid tank. Remove the washer fluid tank. The rest becomes obvious.
