Goto the autozone. Get an "OEM Radio Removal tools" by Metra RoadWorks, pn AW-FDRT. This kit consists of two U shaped wire prongs that you insert on the two holes on either side of the face plate. Cost of the kit was a couple of bucks. I suppose you can cut a hanger and bend it into shape, but I was in autozone one day and saw it/bought it.
the led panel is burnt out you can either take it to a radio repair shop or buy a used radio you can't fix it
Yes , in the center stack of the dash , to the right of the radio
It's in the center stack of the dash , just to the left of the radio
The selector rotary knob is in the center stack of the dash , just to the left of the radio for the 4X4 Control Trac system
Check fuses , or bulbs in radio burn out.
splice the blue amp wire on the harness to the power wire, your car came with a factory amp. that will give you sound.
you will need to bypass the amps in the passanger side rear of the vehicle if its the Eddie Bauer edition.
You can find a radio wiring harness for your 1997 Ford at most auto-parts stores. Many electronic stores will also have the radio wiring harness.
The radio is usually supplied power until you open one of the doors. Perhaps what you have is a bad door sensor? Try shutting off the car, and then opening the passenger door and see if it shuts the radio off. If that doesn't fix it, then whatever module the radio is connected to is probably bad.
I've had that happen to my Isuzu Ascender. The thing that worked for me was turn car off and remove key find the fuse to the radio/CD player and pull it out turn car on for a second (radio & CD player will not turn on at all because the fuse is out) put the fuse back in turn car on- hopefully you can eject the CD now.
I believe that is in the center stack of the dash and that you remove the radio to change it
