Go to the home menu. Then under editing select clear.
You can not merge excel documents into notepad, but you can copy data from Excel and paste it into notepad if you want to remove all of the formatting and have only plain text.
Formatting means that you change how your text or paragraph look like. For text it means underline, bold, change of color or font size. For paragraph it means line spacing, indents etc.
The Microsoft Office has open text formatting, which includes Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. In addition, the Adobe software package also has open text formatting, which include Adobe Reader and Adobe Acrobat.
When text is selected in an Excel 2007 document, the "Mini Toolbar" will appear. The "format" option allears here in the same way as it does on the main toolbar. Simply select this option and choose how the text is to be formatted.
It does note remove all formatting but the option menu: Format > Simplify Formatting (Ctrl + Space) cleans the notes very well!
Most text functions are used for manipulating text or getting information about it rather than formatting it. Formatting of text can be done through the Format Cells options, by pressing Ctrl-1. Some text functions can change the look of text, mainly ones changing the case like UPPER, LOWER and PROPER.
Changing the font. This includes type, size, bold, underline, strikethrough, superscript, etc.
The default alignment for text is left aligned. You can centre the text after it is entered. You can also set the formatting to be centred before entering anything. Then when text is typed into the cell it will be centred.

Excel does not create stylized text, but you can insert WordArt. You will find the WordArt option in Excel 2007 on the Insert tab in the Text section.

E-mails are normally text, so when you paste something from another application you may lose some of the formatting. In this instance, GMail is not Excel, so you will lose some of the formatting. You could put the data into a Google Spreadsheet or just attach an Excel file with the data you want, as better solutions to your problem.
