The Miata.net Garage section (http://www.miata.net/garage/) has a wealth of information on all things Miata related.
This is for a gauge-face install, which requires you to remove the gauge cluster, and includes complete instructions:

To check the fuel pressure on a 1994 Mazda Miata, you'll need a fuel pressure gauge. First, locate the fuel rail on the engine and find the Schrader valve, which resembles a tire valve. Remove the cap from the Schrader valve, attach the fuel pressure gauge, and turn the ignition to the "on" position without starting the engine to read the pressure. The normal fuel pressure should be around 29-36 psi; if it's outside this range, further diagnosis may be needed.
Yes
The entire cluster must be removed to replace the lamps. The procedure is as follows; Remove the two screws at the top of the clear cover. They go up into the instrument panel. Remove the screws underneath the left panel for the light switch (one screw) and right panel for the AC/Heater control (two screws). Remove the screw at the top of the panel behind the Heater/AC control. Pull the entire assembly forward. Remove the screws holding the instrument cluster in place and tilt it forward. There are a total of 6 lamps to light the gauge cluster. Four across the top and one on each side at the bottom. These are larger than the others. Turn the socket assembly counter-clockwise and pull it out. The lamp and socket are one piece and are type 194. Install new lamp and socket assemblies and turn clockwise to lock them in. Reinstall the cluster. For the digital gauge cluster there are nine lamps across the top of the cluster, but none are used for lighting.
Answeryou probably need to replace the float or sending unit. which means taking the tank out. It"s more than likely that your instrument cluster needs replacing. This happened to me, bought one at salvage yard for $55.00. If one component on dash stops working i.e-gas gauge temp. gauge speedometer, the whole cluster needs replaced.
Try this;http://www.miata.net/garage/FuelFilterChange/index.html
You need to remove the cupholder*4 screws* and lower the cigaret lighter and cup holder underneath are two bolts, remove the two bolts.Remove the fuse cover and you will see four screws remove the two outer screws and pull out the radio unit and the vents. When you remove the radio cluster will show two screws holding instrument cluster bezel.Near the the door is a vent held by clips use a flat screwdriver to remove the vent.Just pull the instrument cluster bezel and it will come off.
DNA Speedometers are the BEST
Miata owners typically replace the transmission fluid with 2 quarts of MTL Redline Synthetic Gear Oil.
If the speedometer and RPM gauge in your 1994 Mazda MX-6 aren't lighting up, the issue could be related to a blown fuse, a faulty wiring connection, or a malfunctioning gauge cluster. First, check the fuse related to the instrument panel; if it's blown, replacing it may resolve the problem. If the fuse is intact, inspect the wiring for any loose connections or damage. If these steps don't fix the issue, the gauge cluster itself may need repairs or replacement.
im not 100% sure but the 93 and 94 are almost the same car so i would assume it would fit but I've never tried it so im not sure.
There are some rare LSI convertable models that have a tach. That cluster will go straight into the base model Metro 89-94. All of the connectors were already in place so all I had to do was simply connect them.
