How do you remove the plastic clip on the fuel filter of a 2004 Cavalier?

Grasp the ears on the clip and squeeze them together and push them towards the filter, then, in a quick motion, pull it apart.There is a tool for this which I wasted 30.00 on but my fingers work just as good. I hate these clips. I hope you get it fixed. Mark

Now take a phillip's screw driver & unscrew the plastic screws near the left side of the radiator top support!!! remove the entire plastic cover!!! Now use your thumbs or use a phillip's screw driver to remove the side mounted bolts holding the plastic air filter assembly together!!! Pull plastic assembly apart & remove air filter!!! install in reverse order!!!

You will see a big black plastic cap with a 1-1/4" socket on top. it has a internal oil filter. just twist the cap off and replace the oil filter and tighten cap back on.
