Remove the trim and cut the seal with piano wire then carefully push it out far enough to grab it. I recommend you have a friend help you with this one.

No, the chevelle isn't as wide as the impala, you would have to get a rear end from a full sized Pontiac or olds.
Yes it will, but it will obviously look different because the '71 has 4 round tail lights and the '70 has two rectangular tail lights. You might need to change to the 1971 real valance panel as well because the bottom of the 1970 bumper is a little less pointed.
it's best to get a glass co. out to do that job as it's pretty tricky.
