Seat base is held in place by two clips along the front edge, about 12 inches in from the door. The clips are a spring fit into slots in the floor panel. Push the front edge of the seat towards the back of the car as you lift it up from the floor. Once the clips have cleared the slot in the floor the seat can be pulled clear and slid out of the door.
The Itasca was a Coast GUARD CUTTER. so the men were from the Coast Guard. JAG at the time was an Army agency, so it does not figure- Judge Advocate General the words stand for. there would be no reason for JAG men on a Coast Guard cutter! not in l937- or now.

There should be 5 basic fuse boxes in an XJ8 .One in the right rear in the trunk(by battery), one behind the right and left heel boards in the passenger rear floor area and two in the drivers side of the engine compartment.
I had the same problem with a 93 Jag. I replaced the ignition module, coil, crank sensor, and even the ECU computer and I still did not have any spark. I was stumped and studying the wiring diagram I replaced the ECM Main Relay that was the problem, it fired right up. The ECM Main Relay on the 93 is located in the passenger side of the engine compartment on the firewall and it is the farthest outboard relay. Simple fix. I sure hope this helps someone out there
ignition coils possibly out in more than one cylinder car will try to start but sparkplugs will not ignite fuel. Go to any auto parts store and buy a code reader. More than likely your car has already stored some codes in it's memory. This tool will save you hundreds of dollars in the long run if you expect to keep your jag and can do some of the work yourself. The car must be running in order to get any codes so hopefully it already stored them. I'm talking from experience. It's the best investment I ever had. It my very well tell you whats wrong. Hope this helped Bud Sisto. P.S. If you need replacement coils check out Ebay first as the retail coils are $175 at their cheapest, but I found three used ones for $90 and they work just fine. they are for sale there quite often.
how do you remove and replace rear bumper on an xtype jag
If your key will not open boot and you have access to the inside of the car, remove the four nuts on the 1/3 seat in the rear, found at the bottom of the back rest. Twist the hinge flaps forward and under the seat, you can now get a piece of wood or alike and pust it against the seat release. you can now remove the seat back. this will at least give you access to the battery to charge or replace. Ideal for anyone who has locked their keys in the boot.
