How do you remove the rear speaker cover in a 1997 Chevy cavalier?

The ones in the front doors aren't covers, they just look like it. You have to remove the door panel to get to the speakers.

The rear deck comes off by removing the rear seat and the rear interior panels. After you do those things you can slide the rear deck off and expose the rear speakers.

The speaker cover's you are referring to, are they in the front or back of the vehicle. If in the front you have to remove the door panel. If in the back, just grabe yourself a flat head screw driver and carefully push under cover and pop out.

If you are facing the car it is on the left (passenger) side of the valve cover. You won't be able to actually see it. You have to remove a plastic cover (it just unscrews) and then you can pull it right out.

To change the valve cover gaskets on a 1998 Chevy Cavalier 2.2L, disconnect the battery cables. Then use a wrench to loosen the valve cover bolts. Remove the old gasket from the cover and the manifold using a cleaner designed for this purpose (found at automotive parts stores). Put adhesive on the manifold, and valve cover. Line with a new gasket on the valve cover and replace the valve covers. Tighten the bolts and re-connect the battery.
