First you would have to jack the vehicle up, and safely put it on stands. Then you would go to the passenger side of the vehicle right in front of the transmission you would see the starter. You would see two screws that hold the starter up. The screws take a 14mm to unloosen them. Once you get that down there will be the battery wires holding the starter in. One takes a 14mm, and the other one takes an 8mm. Once you take those off then you can remove the old starter and install the new one.

My 2000 GMC Jimmy is slow cranking. The battery voltage meter is showing charged so I am assuming that the starter is the problem. Where do I find the starter to remove it?
To change the starter on a GMC Jimmy 95 you must look under the truck and locate the starter. There will be a bar in the way of removing the starter. You will have to remove the two screws and manuver the starter around the bar. This will be tricky so take your time. Once you remove the starter replace with the new one and manuver back in place screw in and your done.
Disconnect negative (black) battery cable. Jack up the Truck on stands. Remove front right tire. Access starter from wheel well. Remove cable from ignition and positive cable coming from battery. Crawl under the passengerside near the front wheel remove two bolts on the starter. pull starter out from wheel well. Installation is reverse. You can possibly do the above from underneath the vehicle, but not sure if starter will drop down.
