To remove the steering column in a 1986 Chevy Celebrity:
1. Remove the trim panel under the steering column.
2. Remove the noise panel.
3. If the car has column shift remove the gear indicator from the shift bowl.
4. Unplug electrical connectors.
5. Remove the four bolts that hold the steering column up.
6. At this point the steering column should pull out.
The fuse block on a Chevy Celebrity is located on the bottom of the dash to the right of the steering column.
How to Remove the Steering wheel From a Chevy Blazer 2001
To remove the steering wheel from your 1985 Chevy Celebrity: First remove the horn button. There should be a keeper at the tip of the steering shaft, remove it. Remove the nut that holds the wheel in place. Use a steering wheel puller to actually remove the steering wheel.
The fuse block on Chevy Celebrity is on the bottom of the dash to the right of the steering column.
To remove the ignition switch on a Chevy Celebrity: 1. Remove the trim panel below the steering column. 2. Remove the 4 bolts that hold the steering column up. If it has column shift remove the shift indicator cable. 3. Unlatch the wiring harness connector and remove it. 4, Take out the two screws and the switch will come off. If you are replacing the switch follow the instructions that come with a new switch.
The fuse block on all versions of the Chevy Celebrity have the fuse block on the bottom of the dash to the right of the steering column.
Unplug the wiring harness from the steering column. Remove the cover plate under the column. Remove shift linkage. Remove two bolts under the dash that hold the column up. Remove the two nuts that connect the column to the steering knuckle. Slide it out.
The fuse is in the fuse block which is on the bottom of the dash to the right of the steering column.
The turn signal flasher on a Chevy Celebrity plugs into the fuse block. The fuse block is at the bottom of the dash to the right of the steering column.

you dont HAVE to remove it but it does make it easier. removing the column it not very difficult.
