You need to remove the center plastic with the Ford emblem on it. Then remove the air bag or horn assemble if it has the air bag only remove from touching on the sides. Finally use a 7/8th deep socket make sure wheel is either locked or tied so it does not move. Now you can loosen the nut and remove the steering wheel. Once you have removed the large nut the steering wheel should theoretically just slide off the shaft. However in most cases it will have gotten stuck. Either rent or buy a steering wheel puller, and follow the directions to remove the wheel. Or thread the nut back on at least 2-3 turns and try yanking hard on the wheel, alternating with hitting the back of it with a rubber mallet if it won't come free. Make sure you put the nut back on if you do this, otherwise if the wheel pops loose while your yanking you could kit yourself in the head with it.
