I did it myself for the first time and it is quite simple. There are two latches on top of the area where the air filter is housed. It is on the right side. Unhook the latches then pull with a firm hand but slowly upward and away to move the one side. It is a tight squeeze but remove the filter then put the new one in. Remember which way it was. Slide the other side back in then flip the latches back.

After you unhook the front latches, push back to unhook top from the back ledge. Roll the rear window under first, push the top back slowly and then push the 1st(front) roller bar backwards as the top is falling into the backend. If you don't, the top won't fit flush. Just release the 2 front latches on the front of the top behind the sun visors. Pull the lips out from under the tracks over the doors, remove the lips from the tracks around the door openings and back along the side of the body tub. Remove the lips from the tailgate channels and fold back the top. Remove the 4 torx screws holding the softop hardware to the roll bars. The top should come off by pulling straight back on the folded up top. Pull straight up on the half door window assemblies if you have them and remove them.
