my boyfriend was doing this as i am at work as i am typing this or is finished now. you have to take off the fan, the serpentine belt and then unscrew the nut/bolts that hold the water pump in place. if you have the type of pully that is pressed onto your water pump then you need to get the same type already attached to the water pump but if it's the type that can be pulled off with a pully puller then that would be the only thing you would have to check into and go from there. he tried to pull off the pully on the old one to put on the new one but we ended up buying a brand new water pump instead of a remanufactured (was $30 cheaper but not the right one we found out). check your hoses (one radiator hose underneath) & clamps and thermostat too. unfortunately for me, we have replaced all these starting with the cheapest and have found out it's still leaking and hoping it's not the header ... ..i'm bummed & not a happy camper but it is what it is & will work with that.
you must remove belt and a/c comp. if you have it. $5 part 2 hour job.
