Its attached to the windshield wiper motor you will have to remove the cowl to get access to it.
* Remove the windshield wiper arms * Remove the retaining fasteners securing the cowl cover * Remove the right side cowl cover then the left side

It is under the cowl at the base of the windshield. You will have to remove the wiper arms and the cowl cover to access.
under the cowl, remove wiper arm assembly, remove cowl, remove windshield washer resvior (sp) and you will find it
# Remove the windshield wiper arms # Remove the cowl cover # Disconnect the electrical connector from the wiper motor # Detach the wiper motor/linkage assembly from the cowl # Remove the wiper motor retaining bolts and remove the motor

The wiper motor is located under the black plastic cowl below the windshield.
If I remember correctly it will be located at the bottom of the windshield under the cowl assembly and you will need to remove the wiper arms and the cowl to remove this............

there are small screws/ bolts in the windshield wiper cowl(grill) all along the cowl that need to be taken out, then you need to pull up on the bottom of the wipers to get them off.
You will need to raise up the driver side wiper once the hood is opened.On the freestar the cowl is being held on by pushpins rather than screws on the top cowl cover.On the bottom cowl cover there are screws on the right and left, but the windshield wiper mechanism is also attached to the underside of the lower cowl panel on the drivers side, so you will need to disconnect the wiper hose and electrical connector to completely remove the cowl; leave the wiper assembly attached to the cowl.
