  • Type "diskpart"
  • Wait until you get "DISKPART>" then type in "select volume (blank)" fill in the blank with the letter of the drive you are trying to remove write protection from
  • Now type "attributes volume clear readonly"

To remove the write protection from a Kingston pen drive, first check to see if it has a lock switch on it. If it does, slide the lock to the unlock position to remove the write protection. If it does not have a lock, use Windows to format it. When you connect the pen drive to your PC, wait for the PC to recognize the device then right click on the mouse and choose the Format option.
