Remove the handle, it may just be the handle itself. There is a horse shoe shaped clip on the back of the handle. The top of the loop should be pointing away from the grip knob. There is a tool made to remove this clip or you can fashion a hook from a stiff piece of wire or a nail and hook the clip and pull it off. Be careful not to loose it.
You should be able to see if the splines on the handle or the window regulator are striped. The handle is easy. The regulator is a little more involved.
If you can pull up on the window while turning the crank and the window still will not move then it is probably just the handle.
opposite the knob there is a horseshoe shaped steel wire spring that 'clips' the window crank onto the shaft... with a thin screwdriver or awl, you can push this clip off from the know side.
You do it from inside the door. Take the door panel off, roll the window up, and go to town.
what's wrong with it? I had to reengineer mine, by modifying the location of the aft pivot point... It helped a bunch but still not perfect
replace window regulator

To put a window back on track in a 1996 Geo Metro, the door panel will have to be removed. Use a screwdriver to pry up the clips around the door panel. Then locate the window cable and rewind it. If the window is operated by a power switch, be careful not to pinch the fingers when rewinding the cable.
buy or make a 1/4" curved pick, approx 6 " long, slightly larger ok, small diameter material. slip it behind the plastic washer around the window crank, feel for the window handle clip, approx the diameter of a paper clip and shaped kind of like an old non spring clothspin, there is room to hook the clip on the top, a gap is provided. give it a tug and watch where it flys to. reinstal the clip before you insert the new crank handle. not difficult, just frustrating the first time. dave
Your local library has repair manuals.
You should be able to get your Samsonite suitcase repaired in Metro-Manila at any store that sells Samsonite. There are not a lot of stores that will repair a suitcase anymore, most want you to buy a new one.

I don't know if the 1990 metro is the same as a 1996 metro, but there should be two screws under covered holes in the interior door handle. you should remove the caps by gently prying them off, and then you can undo the screws underneath. Also, the window crank needs to be removed.... see the earlier question about how to do this, because believe me, 3 door handles later...I finally got it....and then you should just be able to sorta kinda pry it off gently...... and once you've done that, you lift vertically to remove it from the window... hope this helps!
