If the Cavalier bleeder can not be removed with pliers, try a screw removal tool. The tool has angled threads. Slide it into the broken bleeder then turn it, the threads will grab the bleeder and should back it out for replacement.

How do you get an air pocket out of the cooling system on a 1997 Chevy cavalier with the 2.2L engine?

There is a bleeder valve. It is located on a metal coolant line. The screw for the bleeder is right next to the oil fill neck. It has a stick next to it that says do not vent when engine is running.

How do you refill the radiator to make sure the block has water in it?

Have the vehicle running when refilling the radiator, or top off radiator after engine warms up, and thermostat opens (temperature gauge will drop). Some engines have a cooling system bleeder you can crack open and fill the radiator until coolant comes out of the bleeder. The bleeder is generally located at the highest point of the cooling system on the engine.

Where is the coolant bleeder valve on a 1997 cavalier?

It's on the upper radiator hose that runs to the back of you engine. It's a little screw that is on a metal connector. I know because we have a 2000 Cavalier with it on that hose.

Where is the bleeder for cooling system windstar?

The Windstars do not have a "bleeder" valve to release air from the cooling system.Getting the air out is pretty much a matter of running the engine without the cap on the coolant reservoir - as the air moves to the top of the system and escapes out the reservoir, just add more coolant.Takes a little while...Gentle reminder:NEVER EVER THINK of taking the coolant cap off a warm or HOT engine!!!

Where is the bleeder screw on a 2002 ford windstar?

The "bleeder screws" that come to mind are:Brake bleed - found at each wheel caliper / wheel cylinderEngine coolant - NOT found on a Windstar engine. Cooling system bleeding/burping is basically through just running the engine with the coolant reservoir cap off.

How do you get the air out of the cooling system of a 1993 cavalier?

Start the cold engine with the heater on hot, radiator cap removed, & front of the car jacked up. Make sure the radiator is full, and keep a close watch to make sure it stays full. As you run the engine and the themostat opens, the air should escape from the system. Also look for bleeder valves which will usually be located on the highest points of the cooling system. While the engine is running, open the bleeder valves slightly to remove any trapped air. You may or may not find bleeder valves. You may have to do this a couple of times to remove all trapped air. Check the level of the coolant for the next few days to make sure it stays full. As the air leaves the system the coolant level goes down.

Where is the bleed valve on a Z24 Cavalier?

If your looking for the Slave Cylinder bleeder, it is located on the right side of the engine compartment (the side with your battery). It is on the side of the engine, under some radiator hoses. there will be 2 nipples there that are on the top of your transmission. the one without the hose is the bleeder.... hope this helped... and if this is for the brakes.... your on your own, havnt needed to fix those yet.

How do you bleed cooling system on a 1998 Chevy lumina with a 3.1 engine?

there is a bleeder valve just behind the water pump. it takes a 1/4 inch socket or wrench. start the engine then loosen bleeder this will allow the fluid though your system. when you get fluid coming out without air you should be set. good luck.

Why is oil in the water in your 90 cavalier?

Most likely is that a gasket or seal has blown, or a crack in the engine block is letting water in from the cooling system.
