How do bulldozer steering clutches work?

Dozer steering clutches works by engaging and disengaging a multiple of tooted circular metal/friction disk in grooved drum. When the operator pull back on the left steering lever, it completes two actions; 1. it disengages the clutches and 2. applies the brakes band which stops the left track from turning. With the left steering clutch disengaged and brakes applied, the right steering clutch remains engaged and the right track continue to rotate causing the dozer to turn left.
