I have a 1993 LS400 that has had several different issues with the instrument panel. 1)The needle on the speedometer went out ~110,000mi - I eventually had the dealer replace it for big $$$. 2) Beginning ~120,000mi the entire instrument panel would flicker in cold weather until the car was fully warmed up - I found an electrician expert who diagnosed this problem on his own LS400 & offers repairs via eBay at about $600 LESS than the dealer wanted. 3)The time / temp LCD became unreadable "smudged" especially in cold weather. I found replacement LCD on eBay from several different vendors & installed myself. Car is currently at 140,000mi and instrument panel is fine!
Pull the hazard light button pocket, and remove the philips screw behind it. Remove the two philips screws on the under side of the dash, immediately above the dash instrument panel, and pull the trim panel out. Remove the four philips screws securing the dash instrument panel, and pull the panel out.
It is not difficult. First you have to remove the 12vot cigarette lighter plastic and then remove the radio. 4 screws for the radio. Then you have to remove the panel that goes from the radio up to the instrument cluster. This panel has 4 screws. 2 of them are on top of the instrument cluster (visible) and the other two should be visible after removal of radio.
From Haynes Repair Manual for Ford Ranger Pickups 1993 - 2005: " (1)Disconnect the negative cable from the battery; (2)The flasher relay for 1993 and 1994 models is located on the interior fuse panel; on 1995 and later models it's under the instrument panel to the right of the steering column. Remove the flasher by pulling it out. (3) Install the new flasher unit. Press flasher firmly into place". Good luck.
1993 Corvette and just got in an accident The passenger door panel has a hole in it from the fiber glass ripping The interior of the door is not affected Do you know where to get exterior door panel?
I just did this job on a 1992 Tracer, there probably haven't been too many changes over one model year. First, take out the four 12mm bolts that hold the steering column up, let the steering wheel drop down into your lap. Take out the trim panel screws for the panel around the instrument cluster (you'll need a Torx bit). Disconnect any electrical connectors from that trim panel (I had two), and remove the panel…
How do you stop the panel lights from going off when the head lights are turned on on a 1993 Infiniti J30?
The A/C electronic blend door actuator is located on the top of the plenum housing. Its function is to move the air temperature blend door on command from the control assembly. The A/C electronic blend door actuator contains a reversible electric motor and a potentiometer. The potentiometer wiper is connected to the actuator output shaft and moves with the output shaft to indicate the position of the air temperature blend door. A 5 volt signal…
The 1991 > 1994 Chevy Lumina Speedometer, Odometer and maybe the RPM gauge gets a signal from the ECM computer. This ECM signal is feed to a module in the instrument panel, which feeds the three items above. If all three are not working replace the instrument panel or the module (which is inside the panel), but swap the odometer to keep your mileage correct for the vehicle. Note: The ECM gets its signal from…
Disconnect the negative battery cable, remove the ashtray, grasp the center instrument panel bezel securely and pull it out, then unscrew the lower center module from the instrument panel. The two radio mounting screws will be readily apparent for you to unscrew. Pull the radio out and unscrew the negative strap from the back of the radio and remove the connectors and antenna lead. Installation is the reverse of removal.
If you have the manual, the answer starts on page 289. According to that, the fuse panel is located under the instrument panel to the left of the steering column while the power distribution box with the circuit breakers is in the engine compartment, mounted on a bracket attached to the right fender apron.
