How do you replace 2006 Aveo fuel filter?
The Aveo has a non-serviceable paper fuel filter inside the fuel pump. Replacement of the filter requires replacement of the entire pump, so it should only be replaced when the pump itself fail. In newer models, there is an access panel underneath the rear seat that can be used to replace the entire fuel pump. In models without an access panel, the fuel tank must be removed to access the pump from underneath the car.
It should be located within the engine bay - to find it follow the fuel line (it will be the largest tube, usually metal) back from the carburetor ( or injection feed tube) back towards the fire wall. Actually No this car doesn't have a filter. I had purchased a fuel filter for my Chevrolet Aveo 2007 LS and the manual says to replace the filter at 90,000 miles. Upon having the dealer check to find if this is true. I found out that this vehicle doesn't have a fuel filter but, a fuel pump only. A small filter paper within the fuel pump traps debris. So actually any fuel system issues in regards to this vehicle requires that you replace the entire fuel pump.
