open tailgate, remove (pull back) carpet on side that needs replacing, there should be two or three butterfly bolts to unscrew, these are not tight but can be fiddly. withdraw light unit from vehicle. there is a 10mm nut on the back of the unit, unscrew, push in the two clips on either side and pull off the bulb retainer. you can now access all of the bulbs in that rear cluster, your stop and tail is the bulb with two filimants (21w/5w) twist and pull to remove. refitting is revers of removal.

depends on what the light is for? engine light? amber means its not serious but i would get it seen to straight away. the stop light means its serious
if turn signals are working , and brake lights not working, i would replace the stop light switch on the brake pedal
