Much better to replace the whole axle, look at www.happywrenching.com for a guide on how to replace an axle in a Honda Odyssey
A bad tire can cause your 2002 Honda Civic to jerk while driving. A bad ball joint can also cause this issue.
Honda knows they have a problem with the passenger side lower ball joint on 2001-2005 Honda civic. refer to Honda service bulletin 04-079 dated December 21,2004. the bulletin describes how to remove the ball joint and Honda now has a ball joint replacement. however, the service bulletin suggests checking the opening in the knuckle to make sure it will receive the new ball joint. the bulletin also suggest that Honda will repair it even if it is out of warranty as a good will gesture. if not, purchase the entire knuckle assembly with a ball joint from majestic Honda. it will cost you about 100 dollars .
Begin by removing the tire and wheel from your 1987 Honda. Remove the brake assembly and the brake rotor. Remove the CV joint retaining bolts. Reverse the process to install your new CV joint.
worn cv joint =[
You have to replace the whole drive shaft.
take it to the shop!
what i know you can't take that ball joint to upper control arm but if you buy the upper control arm the ball joint comes with it.
If the CV boot is torn open forget about re-booting the joint, buy a remanufactured axle and replace it. If the boot is starting to crack or separate but has not torn open to the point you can see the cv joint itself you can re-boot it.Replacing CV JointsThere are places that sell the halfshaft axles already rebuilt as cheap as you can replace the joints. Call your local parts stores.
