How to change the lower ball joint for Mitsubishi diamante 1994
The ball joint is an integral part of the lower control arms. Ergo you must replace the entire lower control arm. Dealer cost is about $450 ea there's no aftermarket availability that I have found. My car's not worth the price of the parts ro replace the arms. RATS.
Jack up the side you want to replace and put a jack stand under it. Remove the ball joint clamp bolt and nut. Remove the bolt completely. Remove the 2 bolts holding the ball joint to the control arm and take it off.
With a ball joint press and removal tool.
To replace the lower control arms on a 1994 Acura Integra safely raise and stabilize the car. Remove the lower ball joints and two bolts that hold the lower control arms to the car. Pull them off. Replace with a new unit.
Lower the steering column.
Check this out. very easy job I replaced both pins; upper and lower on my 1994 Lincoln Town Car in less than an hour. The grinding the old pins in half took the longest. http://www.lincolnsonline.com/tech/00045.html

Lower rear end of engine - usually passenger side
The squeak is most likely coming from your upper or lower ball joints. Replace your worn ball joint(s) and that'll fix your problem.
You need to lower the fuel tank to get at it.
You have to take the control arm and ball joint to a shop and have them pressed together, otherwise it is easier to buy the new control arm with the ball joint already in it.
