how do you replace the starter on a 2006 chevy hr
The solenoid is attached to the starter. Replace the starter.
a soleniod is just one item in a schematic its like a big relay if it needs to be replace its like 8 bucks, if you want the schematic for the whole starter system its basically battery+ to soleniod to starter to battery-
your starter soleniod may be stuckif you are getting dashboard lights and the starter won't turn overhit the soleniod with a hammerif your car turns over replace the soleniod
The solenoid is built on the starter.
on top of the starter
You should check the soleniod by the battery mounted on the fender if that is not the problem the it is probably the soleniod on the starter. Had the same problem on mine until i tap the soleniod on the starter.
If you mean the starter solenoid, it's on the starter.
disconnect your battery. Remove your starter from under your truck and on the top of the starter is the soleniod. unbolt it, and bolt on your new one. Make sure that the spring and the teeth line up on the starter. replace pos. cable if needed. reinstall starter. Check all your other cables to make sure that they are ok. Later
1. Disconnect the battery negative terminal 2. Disconnect the leads to the Starter Soleniod (the cylindrical thing on top of the starter) 3. Remove bolts attaching the starter to the engine 4. Remove Starter 5. Installation is the reverse of these instructions. Hope this helps...
It's on the starter, the starter is behind the engine above and to the left of your oil filter.
