like all VDubs, you have to pull the engine out, remove pressure plate by turning the outer 6 bolts no more than 2 fulls each before move to next, contine till all bolts loose ( plate is wrapped and under pressure for a reason) replace clutch plate, use a clutch alignment tool and have cone out, replace pressure plate in same manner as removed torque the bolts, and reinstall the engine.
