you have to take the entire assembly out the bottom of the car. Be careful when getting replacement parts as there are a number of part numbers available with deifferent harness connections
The window motor on a Lincoln Continental is replaced by removing the door trim, disconnecting the wiring harness to the motor, and unbolting it from the door. A new motor can then be mounted and hooked up.

Remove the wiring harness from the back of your 1986 Lincoln air conditioning blower motor. Remove the blower motor retaining bolts. Remove the fan on the front of the blower motor. Reverse the process to install the new blower motor.

The Block is the same...be prepared to change EVERYTHING on the motor to get it to fit.
There is no sensors for the cooling fans. there is a relay switch/circuit breaker. It is under the hood in a black box on the passenger side. If after replacing that and fans still continue not to work replace cooling fan motor. First find out which one of the 2 does not work. replace fan motor that is non operational. you must pull the radiator out to do this job. It is not that hard to do just time consuming.
Cooling remains same irrespective of the motor rotational direction.
Ford motor company sells a kit of tools for removal of radios in the 96-98 tears. After removal of the radio you will have to have a code to get it to work. Consult your Lincoln dealer.

Correct! it's on the passenger side of the motor, just over the altenator. the fan's will hardly ever go bad. if you have cooling problems it's more than likely the pump or sensors.
Not sure of life span,but i have a 1975 that's got an original motor at 88,000 and it runs/drives like new.
