You have to have the gas tank dropped. The fuel filter is actually a sock placed over the intake inside the gas tank. It's in your best interest to go ahead and replace the fuel sensor that's located inside the tank too. Total project to have a mechanic do for me was about $300. (the biggest part of the bill being labor). If it's time to replace the filter, it's definitely worth it to have them replace the sensor at that time to save you down time and money.
I understand that the gasoline filter on a 2003 Pontiac Vibe is in the fuel tank, and seldom needs replacement
In the fuel tank on the pump.
In the engine bay
== == The Pontiac Vibe Fuel filter is located on top of the gas tank. you can access it by going thru the cargo floor hatch under the spare tire. The access to the fuel filter in the fuel tank is by removing the bottom of the rear seat. It is not something that needs to be routinely replaced
in the gas tank.
If it's like my 2006 Vibe, the fuel filter and pump are one unit and it's located inside the gas tank.
I do not know if the 2009 vibe has the same location as the 2004, but on my 2004 vibe the oil filter is between the bumper and the engine, but is above the oil pan. It is visible from both above and below and will likely be a white or blue cannister about the width of a soda can but somewhat shorter.
Gm vehicles do not use inertia/reset switches.
I would expect to see more than 30 psi.
My '03 Vibe has a permanent fuel filter. If the local 15-minute oil change place is trying to convince you that your fuel filter needs to be replaced, they are trying to pull one over on you. Beyond that, call a local GM service shop. They should be able to quote you the labor because most places have a flat charge based on the repair versus charging by the hour. is there a video on how to change the starter for a 2003 vibe
