To replace the halfshaft on a 2002 Chevy Tracker, first, lift the vehicle and secure it on jack stands. Remove the wheel, then detach the brake caliper and rotor to access the halfshaft. Use a socket to remove the axle nut, then pull the halfshaft out of the hub and transmission, ensuring you check for any retaining clips. Install the new halfshaft by reversing the disassembly steps, making sure to torque all bolts to the manufacturer's specifications.
Assuming this is a front wheel drive vehicle, you probably have a worn CV joint in the passenger side halfshaft. Replace the halfshaft with a rebuilt one.
Replace the complete halfshaft assembly, it is much easier than trying to replace the cv joint itself.

Remove tire, Large bolt on the end the the half shaft, then lower ball joint, then pull the rotor and strut away from the car while pushing the half shaft out of the rotor and using a pry bar between the halfshaft and transmition pry out the axle. Then install new.
Normally you can get a prybar betwwen the CV joint and transmission, If you have a slide hammer, there is an attachment to make it easier.
Most use a "C" clip or a snap ring that keeps the halfshaft in the transaxle firmly, but will allow the removal of the halfshaft with a little effort.
