My advice based on experience is to replace the entire hinge assembly.
The old door hinge pins have to be cut out with a torch on a 1989 F-150. Then, new hinge pins can be welded into place. This part might be available at an automotive salvage yard for a fraction of the cost of new hinges.
You replace the truck ...it comes with new hinge pins :((

Your local auto parts store can sell you an inexpensive tool to remove and replace that door detente spring. Other hinge parts such as the pin and roller for the door detente and hinge pins and bushings are also available.
Buy a new plastic hinge Volvo part number 31265160. To replace the hinge, push the two center pins through using a punch. This will free up the broken hinge and you can remove it. Attach the new hinge to the door, then set the grommets into the openings and push the pins in to retain the grommet. BE CAREFUL NOT TO PUSH THE PINS TOO FAR. All they need to be is flush with the grommet.
