Yes , according to the 1998 Mercury Mountaineer Owner Guide : ( the headlight bulb is # 9007 )
To replace the tailight out of a 1998 Cadillac Deville just remove the fuse and place a new one in the light\'s bulb.
You will need to replace with a new one. Just take out the old bulb and put in the new one.
Just unscrew it.
That bulb should be accessable from inside the trunk. Pull the carpet away from the area behind the bulb. There should be a screw out bulb holder. Just twist it and pull it and the bulb out. Replace the bulb and twist the bulb holder back into place. Re-seat the carpet.
Are you asking how to replace the entire headlight assembly -OR- how to replace just the headlight bulb? Just the bulb.
Hi: My best bet is to remove the plastic container sitting behind the head light. Now, if you want to replace the bulb or complete set, then you have plenty of room to unscrew and replace the whole kit or just replace the bulb. Hope, this helps. I actually removed my battery on my Camry. A pain, but you get LOTS of space to wiggle.
You should be able to go under the hood and remove a cover. This should reveal the back of the light enclosure. Just remove the bulb and replace it with a brand new one.
2 plastic clips hold the entire headlight assembly in just pull them up. Slide the entire assembly out. Bulb turns in there from behind. Replace with the same size bulb. Rich
You just need to replace the bulb. It should just turn and click out of the back of the lens (from under the hood) then just remove old bulb from the socket...
you don't replace the tail light you just replace the bulb in it
