You disconnect it in the basement or crawlspace and remove it through the wall. Fit new one in the same way
If the power supply has a 5 volt tap on the secondary side of the transformer, yes. If there is no tap and the secondary side of the power supply is only 10 volts then no, you can not substitute the higher voltage unit.

If you look under your sin there should be a few pipes and 1 green wire. I think the green wire is a air wire witch when you twist the tap it releases air at one side (depends what side tap you used) and forces the water up and out and the other side just sucks air in.
It just pulls down. There is a tap I just pull on it with my finger. You can use a regular screwdriver to assist. One side has the pull down tab and the other side slips out once it is off.
