By taking it to a qualified automotive technician taht can do the job for you (anyone asking how doesn't know and wouldn't be able to).
Another View: Get a glass at a salvage yard, remove the trim piece at the bottom of the window opening on the outside of the door. Standing outside the door, lift the trim firmly from the rear side of the door and work it out going toward the mirror as the front is behind the mirror. On the inside of the door, remove the door panel. Take the cover off the window crank (if manual) and remove the screw holding it on. There should be a couple screws holding the door panel on the perimeter of the panel and one in the recess where you grab to close the door. Most of the panels are gravity held by clips on the panel. After all screws are out pull the panel up about an inch and pull out from the top. Take the speaker out if you have one. Unplug switch wires if electric windows.
If your glass is broken, you need to vacuum out all the pieces in the door and get it all out from the tracks and runners where the window slides up and down. Manual and power windows both use the same device called a regulator, to move windows up and down. If you have manual windows, the gears of the window regulator are turned with the hand crank, and power windows, you will find a small electric motor along with the regulator that serves to turn the gears. The part of the regulator that holds the glass ( Sort of tee shaped) can be removed by taking out a nut on the very bottom of the door and one up near the top near the door latch. There are two washer assemblies that hold the glass to the regulator, you will have to drill out the rivets holding these in and replace with one inch by quarter inch bolts and lock nuts, if they are too long the window will not go up. Slide the new glass into the panel before putting this track back in the door. Stand outside the door and hold the glass in its correct orientation and the tilt the front side down about 45 degrees. Put it in the opening with the front side first and work it into the door gently. A helper would be great here to hold the glass from inside the door. You have to work the glass into its rubber guides on both sides of the door. It helps to take the bolt out of the front guide on the bottom, near the speaker hole. Reach into the speaker hole to move the bottom of the guide toward the front of the vehicle. This will help line up the glass in all guides. After getting the glass in place fasten the guide back in place. Work the track of the regulator back in the door, you will have to push the glass up to do this. Now attach the glass with your one inch bolts and lock nuts, fasten the the track top and bottom, and put it all back together.
mine broke as well on a 2004 ford ranger (passenger) and it was 25 dollars cheaper to just replace the mirror (glass only) rather than the whole housing.. i went ot my local automobile glass installation place (all star glass in my area) and bought the glass for 15 bucks and just with a screw driver carefully remove all your broken glass and silicone the new glass to the plastic.... its simple and effective
