What have to do replace the belts water pump power steering
Power Steering Serpentine Belt or pump.
Yes it's safe to drive but it will be very difficult to steer. Only drive it to a place to replace it or home if doing it yourself. They are relatively easy to replace. If you can do a brake job you can replace a pump. Just get yourself a Haynes manual.
You might have waited too long to replace your pump and caused damage to your steering box (or in your case your rack and pinion), or your pump doesnt pump the same gpm as the original. Is there play in the wheel before getting response from the wheels? Did the stiffness get better after changeing your pump or stay the same? The problem might have been your rack and pinion and not the pump.
the steering pump belt is loose and needs to be tightened up. hope this helps.
How do you replace the power steering pump for a 1987 Toyota Supra?
how do i replace a power steering pump in a 1990 toyota camry?
No, if you do you will have no power steering. You could not steer this vehicle with the power steering pump bypassed.
The pump pressurizes the power steering fluid. The fluid travels through the steering rack or steering box to aid in the making the vehicle steer easier.
Probably a bad power steering pump or bad power steering fluid.
