How do you replace rear shocks on 1997 Mercury Grand marquis?

To replace the rear shocks on a 1997 Mercury Grand Marquis, begin by safely lifting the rear of the vehicle and securing it with jack stands. Remove the wheels for better access, then unbolt the lower shock mount and the upper shock mount using appropriate sockets or wrenches. Once the old shocks are removed, install the new shocks by reversing the removal process, ensuring all bolts are tightened to the manufacturer's specifications. Finally, replace the wheels and lower the vehicle back to the ground.

Can you replace zw7 shocks on a 2003 Tahoe with standard shocks?

If you replace the manual leveling shocks on the rear with regular shocks you also have to replace the rear coil springs with stiffer ones. Use gm part #15182559 or bilstein part #199021 to replace the coil springs. The coil springs that come with the manual leveling shocks are not stiff enough to use with regular shocks, causing the rear end to droop.
