david r Scott and James Irwin,They travelled a total 17 miles (27km) in the rover.
you must first remove the door panel. this is a little tricky if you have not done this before. I suggest getting instructions for this too before you start. Once you get the door panel off, the mirror is a snap. 1. Remove the foam insulation 2. Disconnect the electrical connections for the mirror controls 3. Remove the three nuts securing the mirror to the vehicle 4. Replace the mirror and do above in reverse order. It is really easy. Be gentle with the door panel. There are plastic parts that are fragile. I got an estimate with parts and labor for one mirror for $450. I bought the mirror myself for $210 and put it on in about an hour and a half total so I save over $200. Good luck.
remove door card (including screws on on bottom of door) then carefully remove the 3 screws that hold in place . total time about 15 mins
Start from the inside. Insert plastic tool between A pillar and triangle plastic that covers it and separate. This will make all screws visible and accessible (3 in total)
Rover
The Mars 2, Prop-M rover, was sent in 1971 and was the first Mars Rover to be sent. Unfortunately the attempt was unsuccessful. The first successful Mars rover (and the third successful rover sent into space) was Sojourner. It was launched by NASA on December 4, 1996, and landed July 4, 1997. The most recent, successful, and currently operating Mars rover is the Opportunity (MER-B), Mars Exploration Rover, which landed successfully on January 25, 2004.So far there have been a total of five Mars Rovers.
There was a total of 1317 passengers on Titanic. 500 lived and 817 died.
Cost: Approximately $820 million total (for both rovers)$645 million for design/development + $100 million for the Delta launch vehicle and the launch + $75 million for mission operations
The BMW 750il model seats a total of 5 people. In the vehicle, there is one driver's seat, one front passenger's seat and three rear passenger's seats in total.
Remove the inside door panel. Should be 3 screws total, 2 on door close handle, 1 by opener/lock panel. If you have non-power windows remove the window crank. Pull on door panel to release the plastic grommets holding the panel to the door. Then pull the panel up off the window track. If power windows undo the power cable. Once the panel is off, up where the mirror is there should be 3 rubber type stoppers in the door, this is for sound reduction, remove those. Inside the holes are the nuts holding the mirror. Remove the nuts, careful to not lose any, pull the mirror out from the outside, remove power cable. Install new mirror, and replace everything else in reverse order. DON'T OVER TIGHTEN THE NUTS. I did this to one and snapped it off the plastic of the mirror. Replaced a 1997 Blazer mirror, good luck!
