you did not say if the system has a leak, or system is low is so you need to fix the leak first. to just add freon get a kit from wally world and then go to the kitchen stuff in wally world and get a thermometer with a long stem and put this in your dash cooling outlet in the center of the dash turn the a/c on to max and fill with freon until temp hits 49 degrees should be enough
