It is like most cars except the rear brakes need a special tool to screw the caliper piston back into the caliper so the new pad can fit. You can't just push the piston back in like most cars, it screws in because that is how the parking brake works on most German cars. It is a round disk with a square hole for a 3/8 in ratchet to turn it and 2 pins that fit the notches in the rear caliper piston. They can be rented for free at Autozone, just pay a $40 refundable deposit, and you get a set with all sizes.
