open the bonet and locate the bulb from the back of the indicator there is a cable connected to the back of the bulb you must rotate it to remove the bulb. note: some cars u need to pull a little piece of metal o something to release the hole indicator to the front of the vehicle. i hope that help u. cherssss.... Here is what I needed to do on a 1999 A6: The engine air clearner assembly is very much in the way so I removed it. It is relatively easy with basic tools. Working at the front passenger side of the engine compartment remove two small Phillips head screws that hold the engine air inlet duct in place at the top of the radiator support and remove the three duct sections. These come out easily. Use a large screw driver to unclip the 4 metal clips that secure the top of the air cleaner assembly. To move it out of the way I disconnected the electrical connector to the sensor closest to the fender - push in on the metal bail that locks the connector in place and gently pull the connector off. There is one 10mm hex head screw that holds the air cleaner base in place near the right fender. Remove the screw and pull the base of the air cleaner straight up. Now you can easily access the turn signal assembly. You will see a gray, flat plastic piece about 4" long that protrudes in the direction of where the air cleaner assembly was. Gently rotate this bulb holder counterclockwise about a quarter turn. It should come out easily. Replace the bulb with a 2357A. Not every auto parts place carries it so look around and get the right one. This is also a good time to replace the engine air cleaner. The problem may not be the bulb but the metal contacts in the bulb holder. Clean them with a pencil eraser or gently with very fine sand paper. Don't push hard and deform the contacts.
