How do you replace the fuel filter located on a 1994 Saturn SL1?

1. Purchase replacement filter assembly w/ connection release tool. 2. Examine fittings and connections so you can see how they come apart and go together (and what the filter assembly looks like). 3. Locate old filter assembly (mounted to inside driver-side wheel-well). Follow gas-line up from filter where it connects to throttle/fuel injection system. Release fuel-line pressure by depressing valve-stem mounted on metal fuel-line near filter hose connection. 4. Use small plastic tool to disconnect filter hose at upper connnection. 5. Disconnect fuel-line from bottom of filter cannister using pliers to release compression fitting. 6. Reconnect everything in reverse order.
It may be necessary to loosen or remove bracket to get old filter out. Remember to wear safety glasses to avoid the possiblity of fuel spraying into your eyes.

If its anything like a 1996, the fuel filter is located on the drivers side of the firewall. It however is a Saturn only part,means you get the part from Saturn.It has the fuel lines attached to it.They are plastic and black. 1 unhooks from the fuel intake and the other 1 is under the car. Not hard at all to change this,just a pest that it only comes from Saturn. Luck
