The bulbs screw in from the rear. If you can't get to the back, take the light assy off of the car.
when you open the hood of the car there are two square plastic tabs on either side of the light, pull up on those (they only move 1/4 to 1/2 inch) and the headlight assembly will come out giving you access to the bulbs.
The bulbs screw in from the rear. If you can't get to it take the light assy off. --------- This update is not for the obnoxious drivers burnt out their high beams by tailing aPrius and flashing their high beams. You guys need to pull the front grill as payback for your actions. First take out a 1/2 inch socket, 5/16 wrench and remove the battery.Hidden by thebattery is a horn which is removed by removing the 1/2 inch screw. Now you have access to both the left and right low beam headlamps. You need access to both because the other headlamp is about ready to burn out. Next, take the largest screw driver in your box and use it to lift the tabs on the headlamp connector. Use a shop light or flashlight to see, but the tabs lift from the top. Gently wiggle the connector downward until it releases. AFTER disconnecting the connector, the bulb assembly should turn counter clockwise a full 40 degrees and stop. After rotating the assembly, pull/wiggle the bulb assemblystraight back from the light assembly. Buy a pair of bulb assemblies and reverse process. --------------- For driving lights (on the bottom), there are 4 screws on the corner of the light which are removed. The light assembly pulls straight out. Disconnect the bulb assembleis and replace.
The lamp assy comes out without tools. There is a rod that is locked into thehousing, just spin the rod and remove it. the headlight should be able to be removed and the bulb replaced!!
Actually there are two rods. One on the left of the headlight assy and one on the right(if you are facing the grill). Unlatch both rods out of their retainers and pull them straight up and the assy should come out. Then the bulb just turns about 40 degrees and can be removed from there.
Remove the headlight connector from the back of your 2002 Chevy Monte Carlo headlight. Take hold of the lightbulb, push in and turn at the same time, to remove. Reverse the process to replace the new headlight.
this is what owners manual says: 1-piece composite headlamp system 1. Open hood 2. Remove the black retainer clips by lifting up 3. Pull the headlight assembly out 4. Unplug the electrical connector 5. Turn the bulb/socket assembly counterclockwise to remove it 6. Put the new bulb/socket assembly into the headlamp assembly and turn it clockwise until it is tight 7. Plug in the electrical connector 8. Put the headlamp assembly back into the vehicle 8. Install the two retaining clips 10. Close the hood 2-piece composite headlamp system: 1. Open the hood 2. Remove the black retainer clips by lifting up 3. Unplug the electrical connector 4. Pull the headlamp assembly out 5. turn bulb/socket assembly counterclockwise to remove it 6. Put the new bulb/socket assembly into headlamp assembly and turn it clockwise until it is tight 7. Plug in electical connector 8. Put the headlamp assembly back into the vehicle 9. Install the two retaining clips 10. Close hood
After going through all these people that want money to answer a little question like this I went to NAPA. Bought the bulb and the guy there showed me there are two long black plastic clips behind the bucket by the air filter that lift up and release the whole assembly. I hope this helps someone else. Once you have removed the clips either behind the battery box or the breather box (they are slotted to use a flat screw driver to pry the up with but they are made of plastic so be careful) once you have the clips free the assembly can be lowered half an inch and slid forward till it comes free. The wires are attached using a clip on top and some really tight form fitting rubber gasket. Hold the bulb assembly in one hand and use your thumb to lift up on the clips then use a flat bit screw driver to gently work the plug loose. (Same with turn signal lights.) Take the bulbs loose by twisting them counter clockwise. They will then come free of the assembly. Be careful not to touch the glass as you slide the new bulb out of the package and into the headlight assembly. Once you lock them into place, turning clockwise, slid the wire back on. Make sure to place the 9005 bulb on the outside for low beams and the 9006 on the outside for the High beams. You do not want the XS series as they are not angled at 90' and will not allow the assembly to fit back into place properly. Once you have replaced the bulbs and slid the assembly back into place line up the square plugs on the back of the assembly into their holes and slide the plastic retainer clips back down over them making sure to catch the stud head they are meant to slip on first. If the assembly is loose swap the plastic tabs, one is slightly longer than the other. After everything is locked into place use a #15 torx driver to adjust the beams to where you need them. The up and down is right above the light but to get to the left and right adjuster you will need to look into the hole in the front frame directly behind, above and slightly to the outside edge of the headlights. (Chevy really went out of the way to hide this one) Hope this helps.
open the hood and you will see a steel l shaped rod that you twist and pull straight up. then you pull out the head light assy, and twist the bulb holder socket and pull, its a one minute job
read the manual
dimmer switch is on the turn signal lever, to replace you need to remove steering wheel
I purchased a used 1999 Chevy Malibu and had to replace the glove box because the latch was broken. I purchased another a the local salvage yard and I want to know how to take the lock out of the old door and install it in the new one.
I am 99% positive that your Malibu does not have a cam belt, but instead has a cam chain. Look in your owner's manual or call your local Chevy dealer to be 100% sure.
Open the hood and then examine the top of the headlight assembly and locate the two pins that can be pulled up and out of the assembly. Then rotate the headlight Assembly out of the front of the grille and change the headlight bulb...reverse the process
It's located on the end if the main power wire coming off the alternator. This wire connects to the starter. The fusible link is located on the starter end of the wire.
The bulbs unscrew from the back of the light assy. sometimes you have to remove it to get to the back.
You will need to take the complete headlight assembly loose or out to get to the bulb to change it.
I've got a better question, why is this question in the Chevy venture forum ?
Pull the complete headlight assembly out to get to the bulbs. You first have to pull the front bumper off, along with the wheel well to get to the headlight assembly.
How do you replace vent windowin a 2005 chevy malibu?
the horn is easier to get to,if you remove the right side headlight housing!! then you can see horn.
When you open the hood look above the headlight for two round plastic caps. Pull these upwards, it releases the light assembly.
