Easiest thing to do is lift the motor about 4" with a hoist, removing the entire mount bracket on both motor AND the Rack.
Replace the mount without the brackets mounted, and install the entire assembly as one piece
Begin by removing the positive cable from your 1990 Volvo 240 battery. Remove the cables from the front of the starter motor. Remove the starter motor retaining bolts. Reverse the process to install your new starter motor.
Have the shop tha installed the motor mounts check and see if all mounts were replaced and if they are tight.
this is best if car is in the air. then put a jack under the engine/ crankshaft pully is where i put it on mine. then unbolt the mounts from the frame, then the bolts to the engine. and have the engine lifted enought to remove the old mounts and put the new ones in.
It's possible that one or more of the motor mounts have loosened or broke. You'll need to get it up in the air to check. It's where the motor mounts to the frame.
Yes, but the engines mounts are different and wiring. But it will work.
Yes and no, you'll need to replace the computer, trans, motor mounts, front exhaust pipe and possibly the wiring harness, not a job for the inexperienced
YES
it is a fairly simple swap motor mounts should be the same you can use the same tranny if you like or not mounts are the same
they both should have a 2.2 engin and the gt has a turbo but they are the same and will fit but you might come into some problums with the dash seeing as you have no boost gage for your turbo.
don't think motor mounts will work - look for 92-99 3800
