You MUST either PULL the TRANSMISSION are the ENGINE to get to them, No other way. Then remove the flywheel and take a chisel and hammer and knock them sideways in the block and pry them out. Then take sand paper and clean the sides of the hole in the block real good. Now get a big socket that will fit in your new freeze plug and drive it back in the block stright. Now put it all back together.

There is 2 freeze plugs between the rear of the engine and the transmission. The freeze plugs are in the back of the engine block. Do not bother the big plug that is in the center of the block, That is the cam plug NOT A FREEZE PLUG. YOu will either have to pull the transmission are the engine to replace those 2 plugs.
You still have to remove the transmission on a van to access the rear freeze plugs.
There are actually no freeze plugs located in the block. The only freeze plugs are located in the cyl. heads front and rear.
