Just figured this out today. I too have had trouble finding a clear answer, but with all the information found I was able to find the following steps. 1) Open the rear hatch 2) Look at the left tail light. Next to the rubber seal that the hatch closes onto you will see a 1 1/2 to 2 inch plastic piece. From the side next to the rear tail light (oppose to the rubber seal side) pry open with a medium sized screw driver. There are 2 main plastic fasteners along with smaller tacks that will pop up. pry open from the tail light side towards the rubber seal side. 3) There will be 4 bolts. One towards the top, two in the middle (which hold a thick rubber stop for the hatch), and one on the bottom. remove the top and bottom screw with a size 10mm socket. 4) Grab on to the tail light from where the two middle bolts/rubber stop is. If you are looking at the rear of the vehicle, you are going to pull open the tail light to the left, like it is on a hinge. There are 3 plastic guides which hold the light in place. 5) With the left tail light in hand, flip over for access to the 3 bulbs. Unscrew the desired bulb counter-clockwise. 6) Repeat the same steps only everything is on the opposite side. 7) If you need to replace the top rear tail light, simply open the hatch, pry open the plastic cover and with a medium screw driver and some finger muscle, pop out the light. If you need to remove the cover for any reason, use an 8mm socket to remove the two bolts, close the hatch and slowly pull the center rear tail light out. Slowly because the rear water hose is still attached with one crossed-shaped screw. Good Luck! Kimura Just figured this out today.
